Jevon Gibson was appointed CEO of the Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority in January of 2021. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Hampton University and Master of Urban Studies (MUS) degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Mr. Gibson is an experienced public health and social innovation strategist and committed servant leader, with over 20 years of professional experience designing, developing, and implementing public health and social innovation efforts to scale. His work has afforded him the opportunity to provide guidance and direction to statewide, regional and national public health and social innovation initiatives in multiple sectors. His professional experience includes serving as the Director of the Office of Infectious Diseases with Georgia Department of Public Heath, and leading statewide HIV, STI, Refugee Health and TB programs.
He has also served as the Director of Clinical Services, guiding Georgia's Cancer State Aid, Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention (SHAAP) and Breast and Cervical Cancer programs (BCCP). As the Director of the Office of Coordinated Youth Services with the Clayton County Board of Health, Mr. Gibson led countywide health and youth development efforts. While working at Constella, Group, an international consulting firm, he served as the Program Manager for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Workplace Excellence in HIV Prevention (CWE) leading support teams in Bethesda, Maryland and Georgia. For over 10 years, he has served as CEO/Senior Consultant for Community Health Solutions (CHS). CHS is a mission driven public health/social innovation consulting finn committed to working with partners and community stakeholders to address the complex health and social needs of marginalized communities. Under Jevon's leadership and the collaborative efforts of an extensive network of community stakeholders, partners and committed agents, CHS has grown exponentially, driving innovative initiatives throughout Georgia. As a consultant, he has supported and/or advised, numerous local state and national agencies and institutions of higher learning including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the University of Florida, Emory University, the Georgia Department of Community Health and a wide range of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs).
